Children’s Ministry
The purpose of the Children’s Ministry is to give each child spiritual guidance and a strong foundation, which is based on the Word of God. Through biblical teaching, the children will learn that they are each special and unique and that God has a wonderful plan for their lives. It’s Sister Maynel’s vision that each child will keep God’s Word hidden in their heart so as they grow and face the inevitable challenges of life, their faith will be strong and that with their foundation built on Jesus, they can overcome any obstacle. It is also her vision that as each child grows, they will seek and serve the Lord.
Sister Maynel Lyttle has been the Educational Director at Calvary Assembly of God for two years and has been teaching grades 1 – 3. She has been serving the Lord for thirty eight years. She has served in various ministries which include Missionettes, Jr. Bible Quiz, Nursery, Youth Ministry and Sunday School. With the recent additional help of new volunteers to the Children’s Ministry, Sister Maynel now oversees all the Sunday School classes and helps teach the children.
There are currently around 25 children following the Gospel Publishing House Sunday School Material Curriculum. The grades range from PreK – K, 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9.
Students are challenged each week to memorize scripture verses.

Activities include:
- Annual Back to School Fun Day - a bag of school material is given to each child attending
- Annual Christmas Drama and Fundraiser for Missions
Sunday school classes for children are held in the morning after worship.
